Callander Woods Holiday Park and where to stay in Callander

A holiday park, a hostel and glamping pods, and how to choose

Callander Woods Holiday Park sits on Stirling Road beside the River Teith, with lodges, caravan holiday homes, glamping pods and touring pitches. In town, Callander Hostel and its four CYP pods are about a two-minute walk from the High Street. Each has a site we could read.

Should you stay in Callander?

Yes, if you want a town base for the Trossachs: shops, cafés and pubs are on the High Street, Ben Ledi is nearby and buses run to Aberfoyle, Killin and Stirling. No, if you want a lochside village or a pier: Luss and Balmaha suit that better.

Three stays have their own sites. Callander Woods Holiday Park offers lodges with hot tubs, caravan holiday homes, glamping pods and touring pitches, and welcomes dogs. Callander Hostel has private en-suite rooms with free guest parking. The CYP pods are self-contained, with a bathroom, a kitchenette and views of Ben Ledi.

We give no prices, star ratings or review scores, because we have no dated source for them. Compare your dates on each operator's own site, then on one booking site.

Choose and book

  1. Decide whether Callander is your base

Callander suits the hills and the River Teith. Walking Ben Ledi and the Ben A'an route guide both start nearby. For a smaller village, compare the best Strathyre stays, or try a bed for the night in Aberfoyle or sleeping in Gartmore.

  2. Match the stay to your group

Choose the holiday park for a family, a group or a motorhome, the hostel for private en-suite rooms, and the pods for two. Hot-tub lodges and touring pitches at the park are different bookings, so read each product page.

  3. Sort out parking before you book

The council car parks charge £6 for the day and run pay and display from 8:45am to 5pm, seven days a week. Guests at the hostel, pods and park have their own parking, per their sites. Leaving the car in Callander covers the rest, and the loch-side parking guide compares nearby car parks.

  4. Plan the journey without a car

Buses reach Callander from several directions: the Trossachs Explorer to Aberfoyle, the C60 to Killin, and the Ember E4 between Edinburgh, Stirling and Fort William. Travel from Glasgow and Edinburgh has the booking notes. Check times on the day.

Check before you book

  • Does the pitch, pod or room come with parking? The park's page does not say for lettings; the hostel and pods do.
  • Are dogs allowed? The park is pet-friendly; the hostel and pods do not say.
  • Is the park open on your dates? Its operator says open all year, but a third-party listing mentions a short winter closure.
  • Do you need electric vehicle charging? The park lists a charging station; we have no confirmed charger at the hostel.
  • Deals change daily, so we state none.
