Strathyre cabins and where to stay
Woodland cabins on Loch Lubnaig, a riverside campsite and the village itself
Strathyre cabins mean the Forest Holidays site: 46 woodland cabins near Ben Ledi, many overlooking Loch Lubnaig, at the southern end of the loch rather than in the village. In Strathyre itself the camping option is Immervoulin Caravan & Camping Park beside the River Balvaig. You need a car, taxi or bus to reach the cabins, and we found no verified rooms or prices for the village inns, so we do not name them.
- Village car park. Forestry and Land Scotland lists a village car park and picnic site. We have no verified charge, so check the signs.
- Bus stop at the village shop. OpenStreetMap shows a bus stop on the A84 at the village shop. Check Traveline Scotland for the C60 and Ember times.

Where should you stay for Strathyre?
Stay at the Forest Holidays cabins if you want a self-catering base in the forest with a hot tub: they sit at the southern end of Loch Lubnaig near Ben Ledi, not in the village. Choose Immervoulin Caravan & Camping Park if you are camping, and stay in the village if you want a quiet glen on the A84 without a resort around you.
Forest Holidays lists six cabin types, from a one-bedroom Golden Oak Hideaway for 2 to a five-bedroom Golden Oak Treehouse for up to 10. Hot tubs are standard in all cabins except The Nest, with log-burning stoves, gas barbecues and pet-friendly cabins. We give no rates, because the resort publishes none on the pages we read.
Public transport is thin. Forest Holidays names Stirling, 19.8 miles away, as its nearest station and says its locations need a journey by car, taxi or bus. Our guide to public transport to the loch covers the C60 and the Ember coaches that call at the village.

Choose and book
Decide whether Strathyre is your base
Strathyre suits Loch Lubnaig, Ben Ledi and the forest, and it is quiet. For more choice and shops, look at sleeping in Callander, and for the head of Loch Tay, a bed for the night in Killin.
Pick cabin, camp or village
A cabin suits a family or two couples, camping suits walkers and cyclists, and the village suits anyone who wants a short stay on the A84. Remember that the cabins are at the southern end of Loch Lubnaig, not in the village.
Plan the shopping
Forest Holidays names a Co-operative Food store 4.4 miles away and a Tesco Express 4 miles away, and offers supermarket delivery during stays.
Arrive without a car
Check Traveline Scotland for the C60 between Killin and Callander, which calls at Strathyre, and for Ember E4 coaches. Which car park to choose helps if you drive and want a day out away from your base.
Use the official site where you can
Book direct with the property if you want its own terms. Where we add a partner link, we always give the official option beside it.
Check before you book
- The cabins are at Loch Lubnaig, not in the village. Check the cabin location against your plans.
- Does your cabin have a hot tub? Forest Holidays says all but The Nest do.
- Immervoulin's season and prices are not on its home page: ask before you book.
- Dog rules at the cabins and the campsite: ask for the written policy.
- We found no pub or restaurant in the village with its own site, so check opening hours before you rely on a meal out.
