Stay at Trossachs Holiday Park if you want a self-contained base with your own kitchen, a pod or a tent pitch. Whether a particular unit is for sale or for hire, and what it costs, is set out there, not here.
Stay at the Black Bull if you want a bed and breakfast in a village pub. It has six en-suite bedrooms on the first and second floors, a full Scottish breakfast included from 8am to 9:30am, and check-in from 4pm (5pm on Mondays and Tuesdays). The bedrooms are pet-free and the stairs are not wheelchair accessible. The community bought the inn in 2019.
Gartmore is an inland village in the south of the park, on a minor road north of Drymen, so it suits visitors who want a quiet base and a drive to the lochs. For other choices nearby, compare where to stay in Aberfoyle and a bed for the night in Drymen.

Choose and book
Decide whether Gartmore is your base
Gartmore is quiet. For more shops and attractions, look at on to Aberfoyle, and for the West Highland Way, Drymen and what to do there. The Trossachs lochs are a drive from either.
Pick the park or the inn
A holiday home, lodge or pod suits a family or a longer stay, and a tent pitch suits a short trip. The Black Bull suits one or two nights with a meal and a bar downstairs. Remember it has no step-free access to the bedrooms.
Plan the evening meal
The Black Bull serves food on set days and times that its page headed summer lists: Tuesday to Thursday from 5pm to 8pm, Friday 5pm to 8:30pm, Saturday 12pm to 2:45pm and 5pm to 8:30pm and Sunday 12pm to 2:45pm and 5pm to 8pm, last seatings. It recommends reservations, so check winter hours.
Arrive without a car
Check Traveline Scotland before you rely on a bus. The Stirling Council Trossachs Explorer runs year-round between Aberfoyle and Callander, so ask whether it serves your stop, and see routes in by car, train and bus.
Use the official site where you can
Book direct with the property if you want its own terms. Where we add a partner link, we always give the official option beside it.
Check before you book
- Is the Trossachs Holiday Park unit you want for hire? The park's site also promotes holiday homes, so confirm the type of unit and the terms before you pay.
- Season, pitch numbers and prices are not stated where we looked: ask the park for them.
- The Black Bull's bedrooms are pet-free. Dogs are allowed in parts of the bar and dining rooms only.
- The Black Bull's kitchen hours on its page are headed summer. Ask what applies in winter.
- Parking at both places is not stated on the pages we read. The car park prices and rules page helps if you drive on to a day out.
