Where can you camp near Arrochar?
Not in the council car park, and not on the loch shore without a permit in summer. The National Park's campsite list names Glenloin House Caravan Park in Arrochar under motorhomes and campervans only, and Argyll and Bute Council's caravan site register lists a Glenloin Caravan Park at Arrochar, licensed since 1961. We could not find a site of its own with dates, pitch numbers or prices, so contact it before you drive.
For a tent, the nearest confirmed site is Beinglas Campsite at Inverarnan (G83 7DX), on the West Highland Way. Its own page lists camping in three fields, motorhome pitches, hiking huts, bell tents and chalet rooms, with a shop, a restaurant and a campers' kitchen. It showed a seasonal closure from 12 October and 2027 bookings open. It shows no prices, so ask. For a van, Ardgartan's car park, on the A83 towards Inveraray, has three Stay the Night spaces at £10 a night, which Forestry and Land Scotland says are for self-contained vehicles only.
Between 1 March and 30 September the National Park's camping management zones allow camping only in a campsite or with a permit, at £4.50 per tent or motorhome per night for up to three nights. The National Park's pages name no places for each zone, so check its camping map before you pitch on any shore. From 1 October 2026 to 28 February 2027 no permit is needed in the zones. A breach can mean a fine of up to £500.
