Where can you eat in Arrochar?

Eat at the Village Inn, the Loch Long Hotel or the Arrochar Hotel: three places with their own websites. The Village Inn is a pub and restaurant on the shore of Loch Long. The Loch Long Hotel serves food throughout the day in a restaurant and lounge bar. The Arrochar Hotel has a lounge bar and a dining room, though its page is written for hotel guests.

Many people search for the Arrochar tea room. We found directory and review listings for it, but no website or official listing, so we give no menu, hours or address. Ask in the village, or check a venue’s own page, rather than rely on a listing of unknown age. We give no ratings or prices for any venue.

Arrochar is the base for a lot of hills, so a meal usually follows a walk. See on to Arrochar for the village plan, and arriving by car in Arrochar for the car park.

How to choose

  1. Decide what you want

A pint and a pub meal after a hill suits the Village Inn, with its log fires and beer garden. The Loch Long Hotel is the one that says food is served throughout the day. The Arrochar Hotel suits a sit-down evening, if non-residents can book.

  2. Arrive by train or car

The West Highland line takes about 1 hour 20 minutes from Glasgow Queen Street to Arrochar & Tarbet. By car, the Glenloin car park is pay and display at £1.20 an hour or £10.30 a day, from 9am to 6pm every day, and overnight stays are not allowed.

  3. Book if the place takes bookings

The Village Inn has a book-a-table link on its site. For the hotels, call or use the website.

  4. Bring the dog

The Arrochar Hotel and the Loch Long Hotel list dog-friendly or pet-friendly rooms, though neither page states a dog policy in the dining room. Ask before you sit down.

  5. Stay the night

Staying in Arrochar covers the hotels, and camping near Arrochar covers tents and vans.

Check before you go

  • Hours: we give none. Each venue’s own site shows them, and they change by season.
  • The Arrochar tea room: we found no website or official listing, so we give no details. Do not rely on a directory entry.
  • Another bar we could not verify: a search turned up a pub called Ben Arthur Bothy but no website, so we do not list it.
  • Non-residents: the Arrochar Hotel’s dining page is written for hotel guests, so ask whether you can book as a visitor.
  • Prices and ratings: we give none. Use the venues’ own menus.
