The short answer

Parking has cost money since 28 January 2026, at up to £4 for the day, and trains from Glasgow reach Balloch about twice an hour. Looking for other days out? What you get

  • SEA LIFE Loch Lomond

    Indoor attraction

Open 10am to 5pm with last entry at 3:50pm on the dates we checked (12 and 13 October 2026); hours change through the year. Advance tickets start at £14, while on the day an adult ticket is £21, so pre-book. Children under two are free.

  • Cruises from the Shores

    On the water

Sweeney’s runs the 70-minute Into the Highlands cruise from Loch Lomond Shores, at £20 for an adult. Its other Balloch cruises are the one-hour Experience Cruise at £18.50 and the two-hour Island Discovery at £29. Well-behaved dogs travel free, children under five are free and bikes are allowed. Loch cruises compared sets every operator side by side.

  • Shops, food and the shore

    Waterfront

The Shores is open seven days and most shops keep 10am to 5:30pm. Outdoor areas never close, so the lochside walk is always open. Eating out in Balloch covers where to eat in the town as well.

  • Dogs

    Pets

Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome, and many shops allow them.

  • Balloch next door

    The village

The Shores sits at the south end of the loch. The village of Balloch covers the town and the castle park, and Balloch accommodation compared the places to stay overnight.
