Can you park in Luss, and is it free?
You can park, but you pay. The council car park at Luss is pay and display, charged from 9am to 6pm every day. You pay at the machine or on an app. It has 250 spaces and the postcode for your satnav is G83 8PG.
There is no source for fill times, so we will not name one. Summer weekends and fine days are the busy times, and weekdays and early mornings are easier. If the car park is full, or you would rather not drive, the car-free options are further down this page and in train, bus and waterbus options.
The full list of every other car park, village by village, is on the page about where to leave the car. For the village itself, see Luss and what to do there.

What it costs and how to pay
Read the tariff before you walk away
The council charges 35p for 15 minutes, 60p for 30 minutes, 90p for 45 minutes and £1.20 for an hour. Longer stays cost £1.20 an hour. The 15-minute charge rose from 30p to 35p on 19 June 2026, so older tariffs are out of date.
Work out a full day
The council does not publish an all-day price we could find. At £1.20 an hour across the 9am to 6pm charging window, a full day adds up to about £10.80 by our arithmetic. That figure is our sum, not a council price: ask Argyll and Bute if it matters.
Pay at the machine or on the app
The council lists machine or app payment. The app name is not stated on the page we read, so follow the sign on arrival.
Plan for Christmas
Parking is free for two weeks before Christmas.
Do not sleep in the vehicle
Overnight stays and motorhome sleeping are not allowed. For a night out, you need a campsite or a permit.
Rules, fines and how busy it gets
- Fines: we found no published penalty amount for the council car park, so we give none. Read the signs; a pay and display ticket has to be displayed or paid for on the app.
- Streets and verges: we have not verified the rules for parking in the village streets. Use the car park, and do not leave a vehicle on verges or across entrances.
- Fill times are not published by any source we found. Treat anything you read about the car park being full by a certain time as an unverified claim.
- A separate private Luss Estates parking offer was mentioned in search results, but we could not verify it.
- Tariffs change part-way through a year. Always read the machine, and see how we date each figure on how we check facts.
From the car park: three short walks
Everything below starts in the village, a short walk from the car park.
- Luss pier and the shoreWalk down to the pier for the view over the loch and the islands. It is the main reason people stop here.
- Faerie TrailThe Loch Lomond Faerie Trail route guide is a woodland trail near the village.
- Three Lochs WayFor a longer day on foot, the Three Lochs Way walk passes through the village. Park once and walk out.
