Drymen road car park and where to park in Drymen

What the council publishes, the free forest car parks outside the village and the bus

Looking for a Drymen road car park? Stirling Council’s charge table names no car park in Drymen, so we cannot give a tariff. Forestry and Land Scotland runs two free car parks north of the village, at Garadhban (1.5 miles) and Old Drymen Road (4 miles), and Balmaha has a council car park with a published tariff. Read the signs in the village.

Is there a car park in Drymen, and is it free?

We cannot give you a Drymen tariff, because the council does not publish one in the table we read. Stirling Council’s ‘Parking in Stirling’ page was last updated on 30 September 2026, and we read it on 13 October 2026. It says the council runs 36 car parks, either pay and display or free. Its table of charges lists Balmaha, Callander, Stirling and Dunblane, but not Drymen.

The council says charges apply from 8:45am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday, and names only Callander and Balmaha as charging on Sundays. For a car park in the village itself, that is the best we can say: check the sign and any machine. We found no published space count, postcode or fill times for a Drymen car park, so we give none.

If you want a car park with a published rule, two Forestry and Land Scotland car parks lie north of Drymen. Garadhban is free during the day and bans overnight parking, and Old Drymen Road has no charge. See on to Drymen for the village, or the loch-side parking guide to compare villages.

The first row is the village. The rest are alternatives, with Balmaha as the one with a published tariff.

What to do on the day

  1. Read the sign before you leave the car

The council’s table does not name Drymen, so the sign and the machine are the only reliable source. If the car park is pay and display, the council charges between 8:45am and 5pm.

  2. Use the forest car parks for a longer walk

Garadhban and Old Drymen Road are free, and the first is 1.5 miles from the village centre. They suit walkers heading into the forest, not a visit to the village square. Do not leave a car overnight at Garadhban.

  3. Consider Balmaha for the loch shore

Balmaha is a council car park with a published tariff. Leaving the car in Balmaha explains the free first hour and the daily maximum. For another village with a published tariff, see Luss parking.

  4. Walking the West Highland Way?

Drymen is a stage stop on the West Highland Way route guide. We found no official long-stay car park for walkers, so plan a lift or a bus, or ask your accommodation about parking.

  5. Come without a car

Bus 309 runs from Balloch to Balmaha via Gartocharn and Drymen, run by McColl’s Travel. Bus C62 links Croftamie with Drymen, Balfron, Fintry and Kippen. Check the timetables on the day. How to get here covers the options.

Rules, toilets and what we could not confirm

  • Fines: we found no published penalty amount, so we give none. Display a valid ticket wherever one is needed.
  • Spaces and busy times: no source we found publishes either for Drymen, so we do not guess.
  • Toilets: Forestry and Land Scotland says the nearest public toilets to Old Drymen Road are in Drymen. The National Park’s toilet list that we read shows none for Drymen, so ask locally.
  • Overnight: the council bans sleeping in a motorhome in its car parks. Garadhban bans overnight parking except under the Stay the Night scheme.
  • Scope: this page covers Drymen village in the Stirling Council area only.
