Killin pub, restaurants and cafes

Two pubs, two restaurants, a coffee shop and a smokehouse counter

A Killin pub is easy to find: the Falls of Dochart Inn has a bar and restaurant, and the Killin Hotel has a whisky bar and the Riverview Restaurant. The Falls of Dochart Inn also runs a coffee shop and a smokehouse counter. We list three places with their own websites, so you can choose before you park. We give no ratings or prices, and you should check each venue for hours.

Where can you eat in Killin?

Killin has two venues with their own websites that serve both a pub crowd and diners. The Falls of Dochart Inn on Gray Street has a bar, a restaurant with smoked salmon from its own smokehouse, a coffee shop and a smokehouse tasting counter. The Killin Hotel has the Riverview Restaurant, overlooking the River Lochay, and a bar with more than 70 whiskies. Both welcome people who are not staying there.

We list a venue only when we have read its own website. Killin has other cafes and pubs, but we could not verify them, so we do not name them. The Falls of Dochart Inn lists seasonal hours, but its page is undated, so we do not quote them. Ratings and prices are not facts we can check either.

Decide where to eat before you park. The Killin Hotel says it has a free on-site car park, and the council’s charge table does not name Killin.

How to choose

  1. Decide what you want

For a pub meal and pizza, the Falls of Dochart Inn has a bar and restaurant. For a whisky and a riverside dinner, the Killin Hotel has the Riverview Restaurant. For a coffee and a cake, the inn’s coffee shop serves home baking.

  2. Park first

The Killin Hotel says its on-site car park is free. For the village’s other car parks, the council’s charge table does not name Killin, so read the sign. Our earlier checks found no confirmed charge.

  3. Book the dining rooms

The Killin Hotel recommends booking in advance, and the Falls of Dochart Inn lets you book a table on its website. Do it before a weekend evening.

  4. Plan the bus if you are not driving

Bus C60 runs from Killin to Callander via Kilmahog, Strathyre and Lochearnhead. The Ember E4 coach also calls at Killin on its way from Edinburgh to Fort William. Check the timetables on the day.
