The 160th Bridge of Allan Highland Games
Bridge of Allan is one of Scotlands premier Highland Games attracting crowds of between 10,000 and 15,000. The games field is situated in a spectacular setting nestled between Stirling Castle, The Ochil Hills and the Wallace Monument, made famous by the Braveheart blockbuster movie. The games themselves offers a full athletics programme including the crowd pleasing heavyweight competitions, nearly 200 highland dancers, approximately 1500 pipers, wrestling, cycling, over 40 trade stands, 2 large bars and a huge funfair. Rowardennan, Ben Lomond 4 x 4 Drive
This event takes place EVERY FRIDAY in July and August. This is a chance to see Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond from the high road. As a passenger in the ranger 4X4 vehicle you will travel up a very rough farm track 2 miles up the hill to around 250m altitude, around ¼ of the way up Ben Lomond. There are great vantage points for views both up the hill and down the loch-side, so bring the camera! There are plenty of opportunities to find out about all aspects of the hill and surrounding area on this ranger guided drive, including natural habitats and wildlife, history and archaeology, and present day management.

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 2011 will again be a wonderful event. Its three-week season on the floodlit Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle provides a military precision extravaganza for all lucky enough to attend!
