Loch Lomond Boat Registration and Navigation Bylaws
It is an offence under the Loch Lomond Registration and Navigations Bylaws for an owner, or any other person lawfully or other wise having the command, charge or management of a power driven boat knowingly, to cause it to be brought on to, kept, let for hire, or used on the loch unless it is registered with the Loch Lomond National Park Authority.

Loch Lomond Byelaws require owners of all power-driven boats on Loch Lomond to register their craft. Significant changes to the Boat Registration process come into effect from 31 January 2011 and 1 April 2011

Loch Lomond Waterbourne Ranger Services
|
Water-based National Park Rangers on Loch Lomond can be found at Duncan Mills Memorial Slipway in Balloch and Milarrochy Bay on the east side of Loch Lomond. They deal largely with matters relating to craft use on Loch Lomond. The Water Rangers will help with water safety are happy to answer your questions and give advice to anyone using Lomond and the surrounding area.
National Park Water Rangers also oversee the launch and recovery of craft brought to the slipway. They check registration marks are correct, that the appropriate number and design of lifejackets are on board each boat and complete launch slips with details of the boat to be launched and her crew.
The National Park Rangers advise and help with the registration process, issue registration packs and explain the basic rules when boating on Loch Lomond. They will also deal with contraventions of the byelaws on the loch.
