About Mansefield House Self Catering, Arrochar
The house is large enough to accommodate up to 12 people comfortably given the large and spacious rooms. The generous dining room has a cosy wood burning stove for the long winter evenings and the not inconsiderable sitting room with high, corniced ceilings and cosy wood burning stove has fabulous views out over the loch. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need - fridge, freezer, dishwasher - and has a large gas range cooker to rustle up delicious meals for your large party. There's a fully equipped laundry room which doubles up as a drying room in case you get caught in the notorious Scottish rain! There's also a games room which houses a 6ft snooker table and numerous board games for rainy days.
There are 5 spacious bedrooms: 2 double en-suites (one with stunning loch views), a double family room with a cot, another double and a twin bedroom with 2 extra guest beds. Linen and towels are provided and beds are made up for your arrival.
The house stands above the loch in beautiful, private, mature gardens, which lead down to the loch. Uninterrupted views of Loch Long and the Arrochar Alps from either inside the house or the garden.
In the heart of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, activities such as walking, climbing, golf, mountain biking, fishing, and various watersports are all on the doorstep.
If you're more the urban type, then Glasgow is only 45 minutes away by car. There are lots of lovely houses and gardens nearby to visit such as stunning Inveraray Castle, or you could visit Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Hill House in Helensburgh, the glorious gardens of Argyll & Bute, and the Glengoyne Whisky Distillery from this base.
A unique feature of this property lies closer to home. Mansefield Pottery Studios and Craft Gallery showcases superb quality ceramics, jewellery, photography, paintings, textiles and other traditional crafts. You can watch the potter at work or browse the fabulous crafts on sale in the gallery.

Mansefield House has uninterrupted views of Loch Long and the Arrochar Alps. Loch Lomond lies 2 miles to the east in the heart of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Activities such as walking, climbing, golf, mountain biking, horse riding, fishing, sailing and various other watersports are on the doorstep, while the centre of Glasgow and its abundance of culture is only a 45 minute drive away. Oban and the Isles are only an hour away by car. Short breaks available October to March. Families with young children, walkers and cyclists welcome.
Arrochar is an attractive West Highland village, with a well supplied village shop, greengrocer, post office, petrol station, coffee shop, and newspaper shop. There is an abundance of things to do in the Arrochar and Loch Lomond area. You will quite simply never get bored. The perfect base for touring, head west to Dunoon, Inveraray, Oban and the West Highlands, or take the opposite direction to Callander, Aberfoyle, Stirling and the Trossachs - all within the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Or take the train northwards through Glencoe to Fort William or Mallaig on the scenic West Highland railway line. For walking and climbing, the area is second to none. There are numerous local low-level walks from the front door, as well as more demanding walks slightly further afield. The Arrochar Alps include four Munros (mountains over 3000 ft), ideal for the more adventurous hill walker. Take a cruise on Loch Lomond; hire a mountain bike and explore the Argyll Forest Park; go pony trekking; play golf; hire a boat on Loch Long; go fishing; or visit one of the many visitor attractions in the area. Right on the doorstep is Mansefield Studios, pottery and craft gallery, which showcases premium quality ceramics, photography, textiles and jewellery. So if a short pottery course or a shopping spree is what you're after, Mansefield House is your place!
