Car hire in Scotland has never been easier. From local operators to international car hire companies such as Hertz, Avis and Budget located at Glasgow, Prestwick and Edinburgh Airports.
Most car hire and rental companies insist that the driver has held a driving licence for at least one year and is over 23 years of age, and under 70.

Driving to Scotland from England is fairly simple and you will find all routes are well sign posted.
Allow approximately 7-8 hours driving time from London to Glasgow.
Remember, drivers and passengers must by law wear a seatbelt (this also includes back seat passengers where seat belts are fitted). In the UK, we drive on the left.
Don't drink and drive.
Driving to Glasgow from London: A41 - M1 - M6 - A74 - M74 - M73 - M8
From Glasgow Airport
On Leaving the airport take the M8 Motorway westbound heading for Greenock and Erskine Bridge.
Follow signs and take the M898 for the Erskine Bridge.
You will then cross the Erskine Bridge (toll bridge).
Take the Crianlarich exit onto A82.
You will pass through Dumbarton heading for the Alexandria by-pass. Go straight through the first roundabout in Dumbarton (beyond the council and police offices).
