Plod Trossachs, Aberfoyle
The 50km trek gets underway, in torchlight, near the pretty village of Aberfoyle at midnight on 24th August and takes you through some of the most challenging and breathtaking landscapes the Trossachs has to offer. After watching the sun rise, you will push on, through the next day, to the finish line to complete an adventure you will never forget. All of this is played out against the awesome backdrop of lochs, glens and majestic mountains. This circular hike will take you along tracks and paths, through glens, along rivers and burns, past mountains and lochs including, Loch Drunkie, Loch Achray and Loch Venachar, through the village of Brig o' Turk and sections of the Rob Roy Way. This team-challenge is one not to be missed!
The Wallace Monument Stirling
From April to September the Wallace Monument by Stirling holds live performances by costumed actors – bringing Sir William Wallace and the characters of his time to life. Listen to the story of The Battle of Stirling Bridge, or even have your photograph taken with a Scottish warrior from the 14th Century! Presentations take place between 11.15am and 3.30pm each day on Saturdays, Sundays, and Wednesdays (and at weekends only from October until December, and during February and March).

Perhaps the most panoramic situation of any market in Scotland. Featuring around 30 regular stallholders ranging from cheese and chocolate makers through to producers of organic eggs, beef, lamb, pork, home made soup, smoked foods, seafood, jams, confectionery and home baking. Entry to the Farmers’ Market is free. Open 10 am till 3.30 pm.
