Piping Live! Glasgow International Piping Festival
The Piping Live! festival began in 2004. It features some of the biggest names in Scottish and international piping, in outdoor spaces and venues throughout Glasgow.

World Pipe Band Championships

The biggest event in any piping fan's calendar is certainly the annual World Pipe Band Championships, affectionately known as The Worlds. The event has had a long association with Glasgow, and for many years has been bringing top flight international piping competition and a wonderfully entertaining event to the city.

The Glorious Twelfth sees the start of the grouse shooting season! Due to shooting laws, it is forbidden to shoot on Sundays, therefore the Glorious Twelfth will be celebrated on Monday 13th.

Stirling Highland Games

Games full of thrills, excitement and spectacle. There's pipe bands, solo piping and Highland dancing. There's competitions - heavyweights, tug o' war and backhold wrestling.

Cowal Highland Gathering
Dunoon Stadium, Dunoon
Come to the Cowal Highland Gathering and be part of the biggest, most spectacular Highland games in the world. Around 23,000 people visit every year to soak up the unique, friendly atmosphere and stunning Highland location.
Cheer on the competitors as they battle it out for championship titles. Watch Highland dancing, pipe bands, wrestling, heavy athletics, solo piping and drum majors or enjoy ceilidh music, children’s entertainment, a fun run and local food. The Wallace Monument Stirling
From April to September the Wallace Monument by Stirling holds live performances by costumed actors – bringing Sir William Wallace and the characters of his time to life. Listen to the story of The Battle of Stirling Bridge, or even have your photograph taken with a Scottish warrior from the 14th Century! Presentations take place between 11.15am and 3.30pm each day on Saturdays, Sundays, and Wednesdays (and at weekends only from October until December, and during February and March).
