Enter our summer competition to win two nights bed & breakfast at the fabulous Rowardennan Hotel situated on the quieter, rugged, eastern shore of Loch Lomond. Set in the magnificent Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, the hotel has breathtaking views of Ben Lomond, Loch Lomond and the mountains to the North. A fantastic place to eat, drink and stay over. European Championships Open Water Swimming

Loch Lomond is extremely proud to be hosting the Glasgow 2018 European Championships Open Water Swimming this summer. The Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park promises to showcase exciting sporting action set amongst majestic surroundings in the whole of Scotland. All four events will use a 2.5km lap course with the start, lap turn and finish all located within Drumkinnon Bay, creating a natural stage for spectators and broadcasters to enjoy the action from. On 8th, 9th,11th and 12th August, watch the athletes take to the glimmering waters of Loch Lomond. Admission free, unticketed event.

Let the Train Take the Strain

Leave the car behind! Trains to Balloch at the mouth of Loch Lomond are frequent and available from Glasgow Queen Street (Low Level) and Glasgow Central (Low Level) stations.

After exploring Balloch and the facilities on offer, hop on the Loch Lomond Waterbus and explore the loch by boat. Linking south, west, and east shore locations like Balloch, Luss, Balmaha, Tarbet, Inversnaid and Rowardennan. A great way to visit Loch Lomond and experience the various locations around the loch!


What's On at Loch Lomond

You will find a great mix of interesting events and activities to suit all ages and abilities in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park this summer.

It's the season to enjoy boating and watersports and also the time for Highland games with events throughout the area. Find local Scottish produce at farmers' markets, join a charity event and don't miss the Great Scottish Swim. Get out and get active - check out What’s On at Loch Lomond this summer!


Scotland - the Home of Golf

Scotland is where the game of golf was born, and within a twenty minute drive of Glasgow, there are plenty of fantastic golfing opportunities in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. Loch Lomond golf courses are varied and suit all abilities. Golfers will find a memorable and inexpensive round of quality golf.

For the more competitive amongst you, why not enter one of the Loch Lomond open golf competitions in the area and enjoy golfing amidst the spectacular scenery of the National Park.


Munro Bagging This Summer?

The Arrochar Alps are a group of mountains located around the head of Loch Long, Loch Fyne and Loch Goil, near the villages of Arrochar and Lochgoilhead in Argyll, Scotland. The mountains are especially popular with hillwalkers, due to their proximity and accessibility from Glasgow. They are largely within the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park and in part also extend into the Argyll Forest Park. Glens which go into the heart of the range include Glen Croe, Hell's Glen and Glen Kinglas. Munros include Beinn Ime, Beinn Narnain, Ben Vane and Ben Vorlich.
