Where?
Rowardennan Lodges are situated on the rugged eastern banks of Loch Lomond, amidst the magnificent surroundings of the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. The small hamlet of Rowardennan enjoys breathtaking views of Ben Lomond, Loch Lomond and the mountains to the north. This truly picturesque area is the farthest north on the east shore that you can take a vehicle. The trip is worth every mile travelled.

Leisure Activities
Loch Lomond offers huge potential for outdoor pursuits including walking, water sports, boating and fishing.

The most common pastime in this area is of course walking. Route maps for walkers are on display at the large car park set amongst the woods at the north end of the village. The West Highland Way passes through Rowardennan and continues north along the loch.

The car park at the end of the Village has a road leading a youth hostel, which was once a shooting lodge. Here you will find an activity centre, with tuition in windsurfing, canoeing, archery and orienteering by professional instructors.

The eastern shore is fortunate in having many sheltered bays which makes it popular with water sport enthusiasts.
Rowardennan has a small safe beach, for those that may wish to go for a paddle.

The bars and dining room offer an extensive range of Scottish dishes comprising of fresh and local produce when available. All meals are freshly prepared and cooked to order to ensure our customers' satisfaction.

The hotel dates back to 1696, and is the perfect place to meet fellow travellers and walkers, and share stories of your Highland adventures over a wee dram of whisky in the bar. Enjoy the freedom of self catering in the knowledge that the facilities at the Rowardennan Hotel are on hand whenever you desire.

How to Get to Rowardennan

Just an hour from Glasgow, with its airport and major transport links, Rowardennan provides the perfect base for peaceful break in the countryside of the beautiful Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park.

By car: From the south and the M74, follow the M8 through Glasgow to exit 16, then follow the signs for Aberfoyle (A811). Drymen is just off the A811. To get to Rowardennan head for Drymen on the B858 just left off the A811 Stirling Road. In Drymen turn left onto the Balmaha Road the B837. After around 4 miles you come to Balmaha. The road then narrows and heads north for around 6 miles. You will then come to Rowardennan in the shadow of Ben Lomond.

There is no public transport to Rowardennan. Bus routes terminate at Balmaha.
There is a ferry from Inverbeg on the western shore to Rowardennan that runs during the summer season from April to September.
